My first time strawberry picking with my daughter; we visited the Southern Belle Farm located in McDonough, GA. It was a 45 min to an hour drive from my home but the drive was worth it. I was actually excited to do this activity because strawberries are one of my favorite fruits.
The patch is 15 acres. The entry fee is $1.00 and since we wanted to experience picking; we purchased the U-pick strawberry quart bucket for $6.95. The field was huge and was already filled with people picking lane to lane. My daughter and I jumped right in and had an amazing time.
The entire property was breathtaking. Also, on the property there's a small market that sells fresh picked produce, baked goods, and local items. We both ended up trying the strawberry smoothie and strawberry pound cake that was made with the produce straight from the farm. It was delicious!
I definitely recommend visiting. It's a great day outing activity for families and is a wonderful learning experience for children.
The strawberry picking season begins mid-April and ends early summer. https://www.southernbellefarm.com/our-history/
